I love the TV links one. I have been watching the old shows of Scrubs-very entertaining.
I didn't get the the jigsaw one. Can anyone post it again, please?
www.pandora.com i've mentioned this one before but for music lovers it's fantastic.
you don't download music, you just listen to it.
you can create as many "stations" as you want and you can even refine them.

just like the wts, the mormons (okay, the "church of jesus christ of latter-day saints," hey look, a religion with even less talent at picking a name than the jw's) hide their net worth.
nobody knows how much money they have, though estimates go as high as 30 billion usd.. .
well, this guy in portland is suing them for (what else) pastoral pedophilia, and part of the discussion of damages, the plaintiff argues, is the revelation of how much money the church has.
I hope it holds up in the appeals court. They seem to be trying to hold the LDS church responsible for what a door to door person did while teaching a young man. If this holds up, the society may be in for some rocky waters.
They are sending people out to teach their doctrines and it is an intrinsic part of their worship. They may be layered, but they just settled 16 lawsuits so they must not be layered well enough.
lonesome winds whisper through the dark valley surrounding the highway that is my soul.
i carry a lantern burning from the precarious end of a wick that is shortened with every breath i steal from the hollow vast dampness that wafts through my memories like so many lost thoughts.
somehow i find the courage to continue, for continuing is the only way through the darkness.

That is a side of you I haven't seen before and I like it.
i got three emails today here is the first of three.
get ready to be sick.. .
someone did the math of the 1000 years = one day equation.
Quite some delusional thinking there!
and i thought the jw's treated their elderly badly.. this is the most horrendous thing i have ever heard off, it's truly disgusting!.

Doesn't India still have a caste system where people are born into their station in life? They have lower class ones who are called untouchables. They are not able to escape this situation as they see it as punishment from a previous life lived badly.
People sure come up with some crazy ideas and cruel at that.
what are the top 5 books you would either recommend and/or have had the greatest influence on you?
(if you only want to mention one or two that's fine as well.).
if you feel like it, please briefly tell us why.
Have you ever posted on a thread so you can find it later for a link or something else? Basically I want to save this thread so I can have a nice selection of good books to choose from as I know there are many great minds here. Thanks for the sugesstion, all of you.
Recently, I have read a few books that I really liked.
1) 1984 by George Orwell (actually a reread, but great when leaving the borg)
2) Angels and Demons by Dan Brown
3)The Five People You Meet In Heaven by Mitch Albom (not what it sounds like)
4) To Kill A Mockingbird (another reread and one of my all time favorites)
Reading The Power Of Now by Eckhart Tolle right now. I just started, but I am already impressed.
ok so it's lame, but i bough an old 1981 honda cb400e and got my license yesterday..... gotta ride!.
.
Great picture. I love motorcycles. Used to ride before dub days. It is now on my list of things to do this summer. I have to get my license first because I never bothered with a license when I rode years ago.
Enjoy and be careful!
i was on amazon.com today and noticed that they were selling a collection of rutherford's books on cd.
there was also the watchtower from 1920-1929 and a selection of yearbooks on cd.
they were all being sold under the name of research applications.
Thanks Nathan,
No, I don't really know about copright laws as I have never had to deal with them. Sounds rather complicated though. I was just amazed all of this material was available.
in the march 2007 issue of quadrant, an "australian review journal of literature and ideas", there is a small biography entitled:.
bedevilled: growing up jehovah's witness.
by ashlley morgan shae.. i read the article last night.
It was a sad and touching story. No child should have to be raised in such a manner. I wondered why, though, the siblings were treated so differently. I have seen families where there is a "whipping child" who seemed to be the one everyone chose to take out their anger on and blame for everything. Surely, the siblings would write a much different story.
These parents were not just jw, but very abusive also. I am sure that combination is deadly to a child. Keep writing and you will show all of them your talent. But know you are perfect already and always have been. You never deserved the rejection you have been forced to endure. I wish you the best.

I didn't know that everything before 1950 was considered public domain. So quotes could have stayed if they didn't quote from material after 1950?
